The Bureau against Discrimination Zaanstreek/Waterland (BD) is a foundation which dedicates itself to people who feel discriminated.

Discrimination can take place on account of origin, skin-colour, belief, convictions, gender, sexual disposition, age, handicap or otherwise.

You can encounter discrimination everywhere; for example, in your neighbourhood, at work, at social services, while shopping or playing sports.

Discrimination can be expressed in (subtle) insults, rejection, refusal of admittance, suspicion, extra controls, threats, racial slogans, etc.

The Bureau against Discrimination advises and supports you by looking into solutions for your problems. All information is treated seriously and confidentially. Help is for free.

You can also come to us for information regarding discrimination matters. Besides handling complaints the bureau has educational and informative material and manages a publicly available archive.
